Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of August 1!
- Kisses to Moira at RBC Gibsons for patiently walking me through what I thought was a problem with my bank account. And it wasn’t a problem –– what a relief! She is excellent!
- Kicks to the person who stole the painted rabbit statue in front of a yard on the Sechelt Boulevard. This figure took many hours and was done for the enjoyment of all. Please return it.
- Kisses to Chris, pharmacist extraordinaire, at Howe Sound Pharmacy. After a long day at Sechelt Emergency, I dropped off a prescription saying that I would be back the next day to pick it up. Chris’s response? “Anyone who has spent the day in Emergency should have their prescription filled the same day –– it will be ready in 20 minutes.” And it was! He is a treasure.
- Kisses to Martin at Henry Reed Organic Farm and to Jon at FreshPoint (Wholesaler) who recently donated boxes of fresh produce to the St. Bart’s Food Bank! And thanks to Lee (SuperValu) for making it happen! The clients loved this special treat! St. Bart’s is grateful for all the support we receive from our community!
- Kicks to the driver turning right onto Venture Way who ignored the red light and a pedestrian starting to cross Gibsons Way with the walk sign in their favour.
- Kicks to those who leave various empty beer cans, cups, bottles, garbage, cigarette butts etc. scattered at the Sechelt bus stop by Trail Bay mall. Unsightly, unhealthy, and not needed.
- Kisses to Sandra T for her insightful and thoughtful column regarding the BC Ferries and their workers. The ferry system is the price we have to pay to live in a wonderful place.
- Kisses to those who have borrowed and returned our old red canoe at Poise Island Park for last 15 years. Kicks to the person who removed old red for themselves. P.S. If she’s returned I will continue to lend out the paddles and lifejackets.
- A million kisses to Todd Loitz for coming to my rescue at the Cowrie/Inlet 4-way stop, along with a young man pushed my car off the road and then took me to my hospital appointment. Your kindness meant so much, thank you.
- Huge kisses to Craig Rowland for his expertise and letting me leave the car overnight; you are one in a million!
- Kisses to Doug at Home Hardware in Sechelt for always going above and beyond for people. He is so kind and always extremely helpful.
- Kisses to the audience at Slow Sundays in Roberts Creek, for your donations, which enable this event to keep on going! And a special thanks to Stephen Gye for helping us get a shade shelter up!
