Sunshine Coast weather: Temperatures to top out at 28 degrees

It's another day of summer heat forecast for Sechelt and throughout the lower Sunshine Coast July 30. Environment Canada.is calling for the mercury to top out at 28 degrees C. Tomorrow is slated to be almost a "carbon copy" with highs expected to reach 27 degrees.  Overnight lows in the mid-teens are said to be in store.

Both that national weather service and Weatherhood say a cooling trend is on the way by the long weekend and for early next week. Highs in the low 20's are being called for through to Monday, and the outlook is for the top daytime temperatures to hover in the high teens as the first week of August rolls in.

BC Ferries is reaching out with advice for those planning to use its services over the upcoming holiday weekend. In a July 29 info release the corperration states "the BC Day long weekend is almost here and with high travel demand expected, we're encouraging all customers to review our Travel Tips and plan ahead for expected peak travel days".

Along with recommending making reservations for travel, if possible, the corporation also advises that on your day of travel, you should check Current Conditions so you know what to expect when you arrive at the terminal.
