What is most important issue facing the school community? How would you address it?
Incorporating comprehensive childcare into our district and the challenge of ECE staff shortages. We will address it by consulting and collaborating with our community partners for sustainable ways to address the challenge.
How are you currently involved with education in your community?
As a trustee on the Board of Education and a Nana – a grandson in Grade 2 and a granddaughter going into Kindergarten in September 2023.
Who needs to be involved in school board discussions and decisions?
The policies that shape educational programs must be developed, debated and implemented by members of the communities in which they are delivered.
What do you see as the role of the school board?
To reflect the values and cultures of the community we serve. It’s a demanding, complicated role that requires curiosity, flexibility and a willingness to listen.
What do you wish we'd asked you?
Why is public education important to you? Public education is one of the key elements of a strong, well-functioning democracy.
