The Sunshine Coast Ravens at the annual Special Olympics softball tournament in Port Coquitlam last weekend.

The Sunshine Coast Ravens had a lot of fun and made some decent plays last weekend at the annual Special Olympics softball tournament in Port Coquitlam at Mclean Park.

In the Ravens’ first game against Surrey, the team exploded out of the gate with a five-run inning, probably carried the play, but found a way to coast to a 7-6 loss. Game 2 against Burnaby, the Ravens ran away with the game, and the Sunday game was average – Langley hit well, found some holes and the Ravens made a few sloppy plays, but their strong-hitting lineup just couldn’t solve the Langley pitcher, who was hitting spots with pitches, keeping batters off balance, and making defensive plays when he had to.

Thank you to head coach Randy Younghusband, assistant bench coach Tina Beckman and assistant coach Kathy Garmulewicz for always being so positive and supportive of the team.
