TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. Andy Kim was elected Tuesday to the U.S. Senate, defeating Republican businessman Curtis Bashaw for the seat that opened when Bob Menendez resigned this year after his federal conviction on bribery charges.

Democrat Nanette Diaz Barragan won election to a U.S. House seat representing California on Wednesday.

Republican Rep. Jack Bergman won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Michigan on Wednesday. First elected to the U.S. House in 2016, Bergman represents Michigan's entire Upper Peninsula and much of northern Michigan, including Traverse City.

Democratic Rep. Brad Sherman won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing California on Wednesday. Sherman defeated Republican entertainment lawyer Larry Thompson. Sherman is a longtime incumbent who has served in Congress since 1997.

Democrat Kamala Harris won the electoral vote tied to Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District on Wednesday.

Republican Rep. Bryan Steil won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Wisconsin on Wednesday. Steil won a fourth term over Peter Barca, who was the last Democrat to hold the seat.

Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing California on Wednesday. Lieu defeated Republican Melissa Toomim.

Connecticut voters on Tuesday approved an amendment to the state’s constitution that could make it easier to cast ballots by mail or through drop boxes in future elections.

Republican Sen. Deb Fischer won a third term to represent Nebraska in the U.S. Senate on Wednesday. Fischer won her previous two elections by wide margins in the deep-red state.

Democratic Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing California on Wednesday. She defeated challenger Juan Rey, a train mechanic with L.A. Metro who ran without party affiliation.
