Editor: I see in the Jan. 17th edition of Coast Reporter there was another story about our MP John Weston announcing more grants to groups on the Coast.

Editor: The viewpoint column, stand up and ban the bullies (Coast Reporter, Jan. 31) is a very sad story. I too have experienced the pain of bullying, Ms. Roy, and still carry the emotional scars.

Editor: Congratulations to Jennifer Allen for standing up to a bully.And thanks to Coast Reporter for letting us all know about it.

Editor: I appreciated the opportunity to attend Target Marine's recent information session. It gave me an opportunity to expand my understanding of the aquaculture operation. It introduced me to aquaponics in informed detail.

Editor: I have lived here for 50 years. The town my family came to was a welcoming, hardworking and helpful community that strived together for the good of the town they loved.

Editor: It's interesting to see how the great George debate is being framed and manipulated. Consider another oft-debated subject: abortion. One can reasonably be pro-choice or pro-life; however, no one is pro-abortion. It's an irrational position.

In recent weeks we have talked a lot about the most vulnerable in our community. We are faced with various mental health issues and how to properly deal with them.

The following letter was sent to Premier Christy Clark and copied to Coast Reporter.

Editor: We have been put between a rock and a hard place when it comes to this referendum for the wastewater treatment plant. I think this has been planned out from the start. Everything was done in secret with no public input.

Editor: Having become aware of the hard efforts of council to obtain a low rate of interest loan from the Green Municipalities Fund I have to give them a huge congratulations.
