Editor: Recently I took a photo of a beautiful songbird sunning itself peacefully in our garden, and during the last few days, I’ve been listening to their lovely songs.

Editor: Those green scoop-the-poop doggie bags, so well distributed around our Coast, are a great invention.

Editor: On a number of occasions over the years I have written to both the local council and Coast Reporter concerning the problem with cats in our area. We are constantly chasing at least three different neighbourhood cats away from our premises.

Editor: Many of the citizens of the Sunshine Coast are clearly concerned about Metro Vancouver’s plan to incinerate garbage to produce electricity. It is neither green nor renewable or even forward thinking.

The following letter was sent to MP John Weston and copied to Coast Reporter. “Bill C-23 undoubtedly contravenes the Charter of Rights,” said Pierre Lortie, chairman of the 1992 Royal Commission of electoral reform.

Editor: In response “Fair election act not fair at all” (Coast Reporter opinion, April 25), it’s true that we generally respond quickly to issues that occupy the public eye.
