Almost three and a half years ago, Vancouver Coastal Health unveiled plans for the Silverstone Care Centre as the answer to an urgent need on the Sunshine Coast.

Editor: This letter was sent to B.C. Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Claire Trevena. I am writing to advise you of the deplorable road conditions on the Sunshine Coast in the Sechelt area.

Editor: Re: “Trellis backs away from band-land deal, will reapply in Sechelt,” coastreporter.net, Oct. 25. We don’t want nor need a privately run long-term care facility on the Sunshine Coast. Not on shíshálh land nor elsewhere.

Editor: Re: Trellis for-profit care. After striving to bring this to the urgent attention of the legislature several years ago, we are now faced with the same problem – profit versus not-for-profit care for seniors.

Editor: Thank you for your editorial, “A big night for the Bloc,” Oct. 25. All voters should be represented in Parliament. Our current system does not provide that representation.

Editor: As a lifelong devotee of true democracy, I was surprised to discover I had no interest whatsoever in the recent election.

Editor: We don’t have a bedtime story yet that parents can read (to their kids) about the carbon budget, but I’m sure it’s coming soon to a neighbourhood near you.

Editor: I’m writing in response to the letter titled “TAP travellers shorted” published on Oct. 17, to offer our customers some clarity around travelling on BC Ferries to medical appointments.
