Will government buzz in?

Recently I heard on the CBC news that the Canadian Beekeepers are filing a class action lawsuit against Bayer and Syngenta for being negligent in their manufacture of neonicotinoid pesticides.

I most sincerely hope that their lawsuit is successful and that this will lead the way to put an end to this disgusting array of poisons that these pharmaceuticals keep introducing into our environment.

I am sad and enraged that it has to come to this — people who make a living producing a wholesome product and keeping the most important pollinators alive and well have to resort to battling with corporate giants. This is a David and Goliath story, and I personally hope the slingshot hits its target.

Why will this government not listen to the people who work with bees, let alone the European governments that have already placed a moratorium on these insidious chemicals? How can anyone with even a grade school education not see that infusing plants with poisons is going to affect bees, butterflies, etc.? How long do we have to wait to find out it’s too late to do anything? Does the government actually want to employ people to pollinate plants by hand like they do in parts of China? Who is actually running Canada?  Is it the government or the corporations?
