Why do we need a logo?

In the March 2 edition of Coast Reporter, it was reported that Coun. Doug Hockley does not like the current Sechelt logo.

That is too bad, but please try to understand that things shouldn't be done away with because a member of council doesn't like them.

Imagine, if you can, a member of council who didn't like bicycle paths, trails to the beach, the golf course, non-parking parks (Mission Point), sprinkling regulations, etc. Your first duty is to make sure that the taxpayers' money is spent on things needed, not wanted. I realize you are going through a learning process, but please hurry.

By the way, Doug, why do we need a logo? Could we not be the first place in the world without one? We have a great name already.
