Re: the article "Trap ban tabled for more discussion" (Coast Reporter, Sept. 27).
This has been going on for more than two years! Coun. Doug Hockley, thank you, speaks up and understands what a group of 1,500 plus citizens were asking for when they signed a petition. The majority of councillors don't seem to understandthat we, who live here, do not want cruel and dangerous traps in the District of Sechelt. And no, we do not need workshops from the trapping association.
This council is very quick when it comes to making decisions regarding clear-cutting our forests and development permits. But keeping the people, animals, hikers and tourists in our community safe is tabled for years. There is something wrong here!
