The fourth annual Comedy on the Coast fundraising event, organized and hosted by Chad Joe and Westcoast Mining, took place last Saturday, Sept. 28, at Raven's Cry Theatre. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Chad and to Deb Mularchuk, for organizing another wonderful evening.

While I was unable to attend the event myself, I understand from those who attended from St. Mary's Hospital Foundation that it was a well-organized affair and a thoroughly enjoyable evening with good food, good drink and some very good laughs.I understand too that the feeling from the audience was one of great respect for Chad and support for the Foundation and the Sunshine Coast Association for Community Living - another beneficiary of this year's event.

St. Mary's Hospital Foundation has been a recipient of the proceeds from Comedy on the Coast since its inception, and the hospital now has new high-tech infant resuscitation machines and other equipment that benefits infants and families as a result.

Chad's passion and commitment to supporting worthy causes in our community is commendable, and I feel very fortunate that the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation is among the beneficiaries of Comedy on the Coast.

Thank you Chad and Deb, for all your work in organizing a wonderful event.

Maureen Clayton, chair, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation
