Letters: Invest in renewables

Editor:

Instead of transitioning to wind and solar power, we are inviting Bechtel, an American weapons, nuclear, civil works and oil and gas pipeline contractor, whose international record on human rights is atrocious, to put a pipeline across our province. They will get the jobs and profits and we will pay the consequences.

There will be more fires, a longer fire season and more severe fires. We will lose homes, businesses, crops and lives due to smoke, fire, flood and global warming.

Humans can see ahead and rectify mistakes and care for each other. We don’t need to double down on the self-destructive path we are being lead on. We are Canadian, and peace, order and good government is our moot, not everyone for themselves cowboy individualism.

We should expect our Government to look after all Canadians.
