Editor:
The article contributed by Gary Pennington to your paper of Dec. 24, concerning the aquafit program, causes me some concern. I would remind Mr. Pennington that the aquacentre was built by the Regional District for its citizens as a place to improve their health and fitness, not as a place for social intercourse.
Many of those who go to the aquafit programs are disturbed by the constant chatter, and even unmusical singing, while trying to concentrate on the words and actions of the instructors.
There are many facilities in Sechelt where Mr. Pennington and his cohorts can chatter to their hearts’ content, without disturbing others.
I would suggest that the instructors take control of their classes and tell, not ask, the talkers to cease and desist before it digresses into a “jawsercise” class
