Re: BC Ferries profits
This is an absurd unsustainable system that seems to make sense only to those who aren’t out of pocket, government and BCF employees.
As a “private enterprise” the bottom line is profit, as an extension to our highway system, in government hands, it is a necessity. It has, over these last years, shown it can run at an affordable level, if not for profit. If we were to deduct the outrageous profits, adjust the costs accordingly, put back in the hands of the people, it becomes very doable, and affordable.
We must take back this cash cow, and see it revert to be the tax-paying, public-owned service that it was intended to be. No more one percenters getting richer on the backs of the hardworking people of B.C. This belongs in their hands, and not some commodity to be exploited.
