A family of four decides to holiday on the Sunshine Coast. They have heard and read so much about its wonders and beauty that they want to see it for themselves.

They book accommodation at a recently constructed hotel on the waterfront and in the centre of town. On arrival, they are delighted with the service provided by the hotel. They are greatly impressed with the beauty of the Coast and the friendliness of the local residents. Several days later, the hotel reluctantly informs them of a severe water shortage, due to lack of rain, and asks them to be sparing in the use of this precious item.

They see the need to do so and agree not to waste water. After giving the matter serious thought, they wonder why a hotel of that size, housing many water users, would be built, when the supply of water, or lack of it, would be crucial to its operation.

They decide that, although they enjoyed the hotel, exploring the Coast and meeting friendly people, they would probably not be coming back for a revisit. They decided to tell their friends of their experience and let them decide whether or not they wanted to consider the Sunshine Coast as a place to visit.
