My first memories of Allan Crane are of showing movies in his home in Gibsons and later in Roberts Creek, including many foreign films. Allan then started the film society at the Twilight Theatre.
Allan worked for School District No. 46 on different levels including the resources centre where I worked part-time sending out publications, films and film strip (remember those) to all schools on the Coast.
Allan was influential in purchasing classic silent films for the school district. He would frequently stop on his way home from work to have a pot of tea.
I have fond memories of Allan’s impromptu visit on Christmas Eve, helping us assemble a doll bed for our daughter. The Coast was a smaller place then.
