Editor:
I went fishing with a friend at McNeill Lake the other day. We had followed a little used side road, which led us to the bank of the lake where we parked our vehicles and launched our float tubes.
After spending the day on the water, we made our way back to our launch site. Upon arriving at my truck, I noticed a slip of paper tucked under my windscreen wiper: COVID 19/ Go back to Vancouver. YOUR NOT WANTED HERE ON THE COAST.’
As a Sechelt resident, I was somewhat taken aback.
No doubt the scribbler had been irked by my Port Moody licence plate frame and put two and two together. Unfortunately their math ability matched that of their spelling. I’ve been a Sechelt resident for the past five years. The truck was bought in Vancouver during this time.
Perhaps we should pause and take Dr. Bonnie Henry’s words to heart: “Be kind.”
