Re: “Fire damages condos,” Sept. 1.
I am one of eight families that were catapulted from a normal life to chaos on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Fire destroyed our condo and left me with my keys to the car, my shoes and the clothes on my body at that moment. It has been surreal since then. It’s very difficult to try to create a plan for the future when there is so much uncertainty.
But then this compassionate community of Gibsons stepped in by offering, via the Legion, clothes, toiletries, shoes and kitchenware.
Others offered their apartment while they are on holiday – an outpouring of generosity that is so overwhelming.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
