O Canada not a hip hop tune kids

Editor: I agree with Kim Mellor - our national anthem should be sung by all (Coast Reporter letters, Feb. 26). But what I object to most is the tones our young singers use in belting out O Canada. It is not a hip-hop song.

I agree with Kim Mellor - our national anthem should be sung by all (Coast Reporter letters, Feb. 26).

But what I object to most is the tones our young singers use in belting out O Canada. It is not a hip-hop song. It should be sung with respect - not warbling, shaking, screeching voices.

So, to our youth: Hey kids - hip hop all you want, but leave our O Canada dignified!
