So we are to expect another double-digit house tax increase again for 2019. For the last three years my house taxes have increased 5.7 per cent, 20.7 per cent and 6.8 per cent respectively. The cumulative increase in dollar value over this three-year period is 36.4 per cent.
Our taxes are already comparatively very high. With a new slate of council members I was rather hoping for more fiscal control and restraint going forward, but it appears we are facing just more of the same.
