Many benefits to walking

Walking in Sechelt is not easy. Drivers have many distractions while negotiating four-way stops, pedestrian crosswalks, left turns, parking and street signage. I would strongly urge council, business owners and pedestrians to support a median on Trail Avenue between Cowrie and Teredo, forcing drivers to make only right turns out of the mall parking lots and alley next to Talewind Books, and elimination of the few parking spots on Trail.

Could the RCMP please submit an article outlining the following for both drivers and those on foot: the difference between a lined crosswalk and an unlined crosswalk; the advantage of pedestrians stretching an arm forward to indicate when stepping into a crosswalk; the proper protocol at a four-way stop intersection; and the correct movement of scooters by seniors?

There are many benefits to walking in our town, but please make it safe for us to do so.
