This letter was sent to B.C. Premier John Horgan.

I am writing as a worried citizen of Sechelt who, like you and Dr. Henry, is concerned about the lack of respect many of our citizens have for others in our community during this COVID-19 crisis.

Not only am I worried about the large parties, but the fact that few people are wearing masks, especially in the service industry. For instance, employees dealing with food in some businesses are not wearing masks.

Though we do live in a democracy, I feel that if people are not self-regulating then the province should regulate them. After all, we do this if people are not wearing seatbelts, or are using cellphones while driving. COVID-19 poses a much more serious threat. It could be fatal to many.

My request is that you make masks mandatory, especially in establishments dealing with food.
