During the next few months the new Liberal government and the provinces will try to hammer out policy and planning to fight climate change.
Canada is a minor greenhouse gas emitter – less than two per cent of global emissions – but is the world’s fifth largest fossil fuel producer. Canada is therefore a major contributor to the building problem of climate change.
If you recognize the climate change danger to future generations and all we know and love, and if you recognize that we must be responsible for our actions today, contact your MP and MLA and ask that their governments regulate a reduction of Canada’s fossil fuel production in accordance with the global carbon budget to stay well under a 2C rise in temperature as agreed in Paris.
