Re: “Irresponsible hunter,” Letters, Feb. 12.
As a “responsible” hunter I find this letter disturbing. Firstly, the hunting season for deer on the Coast ended on Nov. 30, 2015, therefore if this “kill” was done by a human, it was a poacher not a hunter. The area above Selma Park has a large population of predator animals that just as likely killed and ate the deer the way they are supposed to. Unfortunately, they are not in tune with our sensitivities as to where they eat. As for uncooked raw bones with sinew and cartilage attached, they are in fact good for your dog’s teeth and gut and at worst may give them what we think is bad breath. I’m sure that the ravens, crows and coyotes all enjoyed this meal right were it was. Welcome to nature!
