Lyle Magnus seems to think we have a Second Amendment in Canada (“Democracy defied,” Letters, May 15). Thank the Fathers of Confederation that we don’t. Otherwise we might have as many dead innocent citizens as the massacre-ridden U.S.A. has suffered under the “right” of men (it’s pretty much always men – sorry, guys) to buy and use killing machines designed to wipe out as many living creatures as possible.
Military-grade assault weapons are used to kill people, not game animals. Anybody that tells you otherwise has no skill as a hunter.
