Seek brand elsewhere

Re: “Tie vote scuttles adoption of big S,” Oct. 11.

I would like to commend Sechelt councillors Brenda Rowe, Janice Kuester and Alton Toth who voted down the proposed “S” logo. If this is the best our communications department can do, then I suggest we look elsewhere for branding, not to be compared to Bowen Island. They cannot even keep a fire chief.

As suggested in a previous letter (“Look forward not ugly,” Oct. 4), the largest single landholder, the Sechelt Indian Band, splits the District of Sechelt in two and it would be good for both communities to work together to develop a forward-looking logo with good graphic design – a logo that would encourage a spirit of working together to advance the image of Sechelt and form a lasting brand that would encourage people to live and invest in Sechelt.
