Letters: My hopes for the new Telus building in Sechelt

'The finished building will be a Sechlet landmark. I hope it’s beautiful on the inside and the outside.'
Telus Living
A revised design for Telus Living presented to Sechelt council on June 15, 2022.

Editor:

I had a front-row seat to the demolition of the Cozy Court Motel, which is to become a six-storey Telus building.

I am very relieved they haven’t removed the green corridor of trees and shrubs along the site’s southern edge, yet. While watching the ongoing activity these last months, I find myself wondering about water: How much will be needed for its construction? How much will the finished building use? (And this one really intrigues me) Will they address the storage and/or treatment of rainwater from the building?

Telus is a “State of the art” company with all the resources in the world (Ha. Ha.) How is their Telus Tower going to reflect their forward thinking, environmentally (aware? Responsible?) corporate identity?

The finished building will be a Sechlet landmark. I hope it’s beautiful on the inside and the outside.
