Letters: Lions offers housing but not homes

'There are no longer designated gathering spaces and seating inside or out and no green spaces. No pets are allowed even though there is lots of evidence that pets are good for the mental wellbeing of their owners.'

The Lions Club is advertising that it is building affordable housing for seniors and people with disabilities, but it seems to me, what it is really proposing are prisons.

There are no longer designated gathering spaces and seating inside or out and no green spaces. No pets are allowed even though there is lots of evidence that pets are good for the mental wellbeing of their owners. I cannot imagine the pain of leaving a pet behind when you are forced by circumstances to go into Lions accommodation.

If they are really intending to do good deeds, perhaps they should rethink whether they are truly abiding by their humanitarian mandate.
