A poem by Tracey Fitzgerald of Selma Park
water

Ah Spring

Gardeners eyes gleam

with hopes and dreams

of seeds to sow

Food and flowers to grow

Oh no

Our gleam, hopes and dreams quickly fade

as reality invades

Our hearts sadden

Knowing that yet again

this summer will bring

WATER RESTRICTIONS!!!

DROUGHT CONDITIONS!!!

Our lovingly tended plants, blooms and harvest

must wither and die

as once again

Chapman Lake will run dry...

and yet

new house permits and construction abound

new developments breaking ground???

already there is not adequate Water

to go around!!!

Tracey Fitzgerald, Selma Park
