Letters: Backyard RVs are win-win on the Sunshine Coast

What a tragedy to hear of the eviction of the Roberts Creek trailer dwellers.

How many people are living in backyard trailers on the Sunshine Coast? I would guess over a thousand. Backyard RVs are win-win. People in the trailer get affordable rent. The homeowner, whose property taxes go up annually by double digits, gets help with the bills. I wonder how many SCRD directors had to try buying a home here in the last five years? I’ll bet none.

The Sunshine Coast builds new RainCity homeless shelters, but makes no allowance for struggling workers. See how many businesses on the Coast are advertising for workers or have to shorten their hours because of a lack of workers. The callousness and obliviousness of the SCRD directors in this instance is astounding.
