Let us return to the pool

For the last few years there’s been a growing number of people who come together by joining the Gentle Waves aquatics program. There have been several teachers, most of them amazingly good at mobilizing people with all manner of injuries, surgeries, sizes and ages.

Lately I’ve begun meeting up with one or other of the classmates. We have all noticed, since COVID-19 shut down our Aquatic Centre and Fitness Rooms, that our bodies are all suffering. Aches and weaknesses are appearing. We sooo miss the Gentle Waves program and the equipment in the gym. Please let us come back.

It’s therapeutic in so many ways. Just to see up to 28 people jumping up and down, or doing whatever your body can safely do, added to the music the staff compile, is so positive. The uplift to us emotionally as well, by having the opportunity to get stronger, safely, and also to discover so many fine people.

The fitness rooms don’t need to be reopened. Let people get themselves home in towels and wet clothes. We didn’t realize that what we were part of has become to us, an essential service. It is truly missed.
