I thank Betty Keller for her review of my book, Beyond Tribal: Reflections on Belonging, in last week’s paper (“Anne Carr explores merits of tribe versus community”). I have always thought of myself as an enthusiastic amateur, as I first started putting pen to paper when my mother died in 2004, and I simply had to get her stories down before I forgot them. I apologize to any readers for not providing a final professional edit for this latest effort.
However, I encourage everyone to write their stories down in whatever way they’re able. The next generation will be most grateful.
