An international event is taking place on Saturday, June 26, on beaches across North America and the world. It is called Hands Across the Sand. It will gather people from all walks of life who have concerns and want to protect our Coastal economies, oceans, marine wildlife and fishing industry. The message is simple: "No to offshore oil drilling."
Locally, people will gather on Roberts Creek beach, east of the pier, at 11 a.m. They will form lines in the sand and at noon will join hands. For more details visit www.handsacrossthesand.org.
