Last month I went to a place deemed an essential service. I offered cash for the service; it was refused. A young man ahead of me asked how much was needed. Two dollars and 35 cents. He paid for me with his credit card. I have never owned a credit card.
My question to all levels of government is this. What am I supposed to do with my cash, which represents my hard well-earned work? I can’t eat it, drink it, grow it in the garden, melt it down. If I can use cash, legal tender, only for the exchange of goods and services, is it not illegal to refuse it? And to the young man, I would like to say Thank You.
