In his comments regarding the Granthams Hall benefit concert, West Howe Sound Area director Ian Winn called it “the hall with a heart.” And hearts are exactly what people were wearing on their sleeves last Saturday night, at the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse, for the sold-out Concert to Save Granthams Hall.
The many musicians and artists who donated their time and talent combined to make a show that kept lovers of Granthams Hall laughing and tapping their toes all night long. A highlight of the evening was the performance by a Grantham bairn herself, 14-year-old Aslan Jordan-Knox, singing with David King on his “Bairns of Granthams.”
“It takes a community …” someone said, to do just about anything – and Saturday night proved that the Granthams Landing community is one of the strongest. News on the progress of the hall restoration and the community memory project will be posted at Friends of Granthams Hall on Facebook.
