Re: “Seniors centre to sponsor Syrian family of five,” Sept. 9.
Really! How can the seniors centre consider sponsoring this family when we already have a crisis for affordable housing and no jobs to speak of on the Coast. We have seniors barely making ends meet and even one living in her car! We have homeless in dire need of shelter. If money needs to be raised, these causes should be a priority. I am sorry for the Syrians but we need to take care of our own first.
I am not alone in thinking this way.
