In the Jan. 22 edition of Coast Reporter, you are quoted as stating that Coastal Link Ferries plans to use B.C. Ferries' parking facilities in Langdale. It is regrettable that you did not consult B.C. Ferries prior to announcing your proposal publicly, as we could have advised you that our parking lot is not an option.

New security requirements have been initiated, and we are not prepared to take on additional risks. Additionally, our parking lot is for the sole benefit of our customers and people who utilize our facility. Had you thought to contact us first, we would have made this clear to you.

I suggest you contact the SCRD and other parties to secure the necessary parking you may need.

Mike Corrigan, executive VP and chief operating officer, B.C. Ferries
