Cathie paints true picture

Editor: Thank you, Cathie Roy, for your very enlightening words regarding “Painting the truth about us” (Nov. 27). Far too many people are inclined to tar everyone of a group with the same brush.

If people were to look at the numbers of shootings and other atrocities committed in North America according to Global Research, they would see that only a very small percentage have been done by Islamics. We need to remember that all Canadians came from somewhere else. The only difference is the time that we arrived, whether it was many thousands of years ago or just recently.

I am hoping that our new federal government will see fit to improve the living conditions of our people that are neglected, regardless of their ethnicity.

Taking the time you have on this earth to actively “hate” what someone is or does is not very productive. Much better would be to use your time to promote our Canadian way of accepting differences and looking for ways to make life better for everyone.

Merry Christmas everyone, from one who is not actively religious.
