Buses cheaper than road

Re: “Directors to lobby for new highway,” July 19.

We need more buses not roads. One bus will take up to 20 cars off the road. Buses that take luggage, pets and bikes. Bus shelters that have secure bike racks and parking for off-highway customers. Buses that come every five or 10 minutes.

A good bus system would be cheaper than a road. It would disturb wildlife less, would pollute less and would save greenhouse gases. It would be a win-win for everyone and could happen now not later.

With frequent service, the customers would come when they see how convenient and cheaper buses are than running a car.
