With respect to last week’s letter from David Rogers (“Disgraceful stand on Mideast”), in addition to other problematic actions already undertaken by Pamela Goldsmith-Jones and her fellow Liberals, I find myself feeling embarrassed that I once fervently believed that successful strategic voting could actually effect meaningful change. The smoke has hardly cleared from the election, and Goldsmith-Jones already has me feeling like I’m walking down the street in broad daylight and suddenly realize I forgot to put on my pants before leaving the house (because too many people know I voted for her). With John Weston as our MP, we had one big advantage over the current situation. We always expected bad behaviour from him, so we were never disappointed. And on the odd occasion that he actually did something useful, it would be a nice surprise instead of something that we took for granted. Am I really missing John Weston? Excuse me – I have to go take a shower.
