Accept water meters

Letters

Editor:

I am in favour of water meters. They do reduce water consumption. They work for more than one reason. For example, they do detect leaks. On the Coast they have reduced use by a significant amount. Yes, they cost money. No, I don’t like spending money, like most people, in fact. I accepted their installation in my area after getting the facts.

I also think an important aspect of the water issue is water consumption. Yes, that means my water consumption. I read letters that continue to polarize this subject. Where are the letters for responsible use of water? Yes, that means use less water. Our family does and we don’t feel any hardship. It is necessary in this world we live in. Things have changed. I think it’s important to accept that. Accept water meters as a necessary part of the water solution. Be leaders ourselves and not look to government solely or blame them unduly. How can we be part of the solution? How can I use water wisely? This doesn’t have to be hard, it’s not rocket science. Let’s turn down the heat on polarizing the water issue. It’s getting hotter already.
