Editor: You have to be stark raving mad to do what you propose to do at Davis Bay.

Editor: In January 2009 after visiting our daughter and grandson in Halfmoon Bay we planned on leave the Sunshine Coast, take the ferry to Horseshoe Bay then drive to Abbotsford airport and return home to Calgary.

The following letter was sent to environment minister Barry Penner and copied to Coast Reporter for publication.

Editor: Re: Highway changes in Davis Bay This is a no brainer. The parking, bench and sidewalk area should not be usurped by the highway change, nor should land be expropriated. Either we get a new highway or we have to put up with what we've got.

This weekend we recognize the Sunshine Coast's longest running arts celebration, the Festival of the Written Arts. For readers and writers alike it's Christmas in August.
