Editor: The anxiety of chemo treatments is nasty. Peace and quiet is necessary.

Editor: Your photo and article on page 14 of the Sept. 6 issue puzzles me intensely. Being no expert on the condition of dementia, I was surprised to see that a fire exit was "disguised" as a bookshelf.

The following letter was sent to the District of Sechelt and copied to Coast Reporter.

Many of us take for granted the fact that we have a licence and are able to drive.

Twelve years later, the date still brings a feeling of dread. The most effective terror operation of our time was wildly successful in creating a climate of fear, hatred and racism. It provided a simple script targeting a single religion.

Editor: It has been a great start for the salmon in Howe Sound. Even a limited commercial fishery was allowed in, first of its kind in 50 years.

Editor: Your picture on page 25 of the Aug. 30 edition of Coast Reporter shows a group of children outside the community room across from the Sechelt library.

Editor: British Columbia is in the middle of a crescendo of thermal coal exports. We are increasing our yearly coal export capacity from 49 million tonnes in 2010 to 94.5 million tonnes by 2015. We have three coal-export terminals in B.C.

Editor: Further to your article on the truth and reconciliation commission national Vancouver event, a pre-TRC event is scheduled for this Sunday, Sept. 15, starting at 5:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Vancouver.

Editor: In spite of having been aware for decades of some of the terrible things done to First Nations children in residential schools, the photograph in last week's paper (Coast Reporter, Sept. 6) still shook me up.
