Wayward bird knocks out power in downtown Sechelt

Nearly 800 BC Hydro customers in downtown Sechelt were without power for just over an hour Monday afternoon. The outage, which Hydro said was caused by a “bird contacting our wires,” happened around 1:15 p.m.

Nearly 800 BC Hydro customers in downtown Sechelt were without power for just over an hour Monday afternoon.

The outage, which Hydro said was caused by a “bird contacting our wires,”  happened around 1:15 p.m.

Crews had the electricity back on by 2:20 p.m.
