NEW YORK — The NHL has suspended Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid for three games for his cross-check to the head of Vancouver Canucks winger Conor Garland.

Tom McVie, who coached the New Jersey Devils, Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets, has died. He was 89. McVie, also a longtime member of the Boston Bruins organization, died Sunday at his home in Vancouver, Wash.

VANCOUVER — Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin says he's open to making a trade — as long as the deal makes sense for the team. His remarks come as reports continue to swirl about the future of star Canucks centre J.T. Miller.
