The Special Olympics basketball team in Gibsons wrapped their season with a game against players from the local women’s drop in league. Head coach Sam said it was a fun game with lots of skills, team work, and as usual high 5’s all around at the final buzzer.  Basketball starts up again in the fall.

The Battle of the Dojos is an annual karate tournament that was started in 1984 by Sensei Frank Clayton, current owner and operator of the Canadian Martial Arts Academy in Powell River.

The team is now headed to Coastal Cup semi-final on April 15 – another game on home turf.
