In women's soccer league action, Ya Yas continue to charge over their competitors in their win over Pender.
Goal pairs came from Alvina Paul, Kari Dixon, Eliza August and singles from Angela Muir, Selina August, Fawna George, Molly Joe and Natalie Jimmy. Despite the score, the Pender keeper still repelled a barrage of shots, even stonewalling Paul and Muir on breakaways.
Mayhem lost 3-2 to Blazers in a seesaw match, with Sammi Dixon setting up Trina Giesbrecht to bang one in, while Reagan Cabral broke in to have her initial shot parried by keeper Ashley Taylor, but then putting away the rebound.
In the second half Blazers unbound Taylor's goalie gloves to let her first hit an 18-yarder, and then slam through the defensive line like a cruiser in pursuit of a felonious soccer ball, for goal number two.
Dawn Clancy's one timer from Jen Bridgeman gave Blazers the win.
In men's league action, Pender brought down only one sub in their 3-0 loss to CPU. Though Pender had three different goalies over the course of the match, Rod Kammerle let in two of the goals from Eric Pinfold and Ted Chisholm.
"Macho' Machado schooled CPU forwards, and he was all smiles and chit chat right up until the ball came around. Get injured Josh Young off of the bench and keep Kammerle out of net, and Pender will be contenders.
At Ted Dixon, Dana Dixon posted a shut out against Sitas while Wolves two strikes came from Sliamon Lion Leon Timothy and Jeremy Hudson.
Meanwhile Chiefs did what they had to do with their 4-2 win over Halfmoon Bay to ensure league supremacy gets settled on the last game of the season against rival CPU.
