Sitas were then edged 3-2 by Mayhem, with goals from Ellen Thomas and McDonnell. In the final 15, Sitas mauled Mayhem like tomato sauce on pizza dough, but the tying goal wouldn't come.
In men's league action, Sitas went down 3-0 to Mike Husband's Ridgepoint Bruins, also known as 'Cookie and Co.' with the Bruins posting a couple of top corner snipes from Brian Thompson and Bobby Burrowes, while Husband stuffed the goal mouth clutter into the can for the third.
At 2-0 a converted Sitas' penalty shot would have meant game on, but Ryan 'Biggie Steves' Stevens was there to shake it off and ensure the victory.
Wolves went on the attack against Halfmoon Bayand their 4-1 win reminded an uppity Half-moon Bay of their place in the standings. Goals came from Dan Muir, Rick Timothy and Trent Dixon, and Halfmoon Bay's Colin Bradley, while stand up defence from Leon 'Lion of Sliammon' Timothy had Halfmoon Bay checking the rule book to see if players needed local addresses.
Sechelt Chiefs got the better of first place rivals CPU in their 3-1 win, with goals from 'Flyin' Ryan Paul, Marty 'Grandpa' August and Toby Baptiste, with Roman Horat scoring for CPU.
