Wolves continue to dominate

This week CPU hoped to make the hunter become the hunted and hand the Wolves their first loss, but it just became another Sunday of Wolves wiping the corners of their mouths, glutted with another victory.

Dan Muir and Junior Dixon were locked, loaded and calibrated, to put in pairs off posts and crossbars in the 4-3 win.

Goal number five almost came from Kevin August, a man who has played 20 years in this over-30s league, as he bicycle-kicked a ball into the crossbar, and didn't need any help getting up.

At 35 yards out, CPU's Kurt Vernon looked up from the ball and saw something nobody else did, and with the audacity of a karaoke singer, drifted an impossible ball into the top of the net. Other CPU goals came from Ken Campbell and Romaine Taylor. Taylor almost hit a second in the final seconds, but was stone walled by Dana Dixon, who was called out from retirement on the sideline after a goaltender injury, showed his same right stuff that game him four shut outs in last year's playoff.

Sitas stormed back from 2-0, to tie their match with Bananas 3-3.

Bananas got two goals from Dave Johnson and a single from speedy half-centurion, Robin Millar. As Ozscan Topcu faced Sitas penalty shooter for the tying goal, the Banana's keeper slipped, causing peels of laughter from the sideline.

The loud booms heard from Shirley Macy direction was Matt Joe firing back up his cannon, which has laid silent for a year, to put two in the net, with singles from Flyin' Ryan Paul, and gritty Allan ''X-Mark'' Marks.

Chiefs gave outspoken John Jackson back his rubber gloves and put him back into his cage, which seemed to suit him, as he only gave up a goal to Ridgepoint, while defender Thomas Bidding ran down everything inside the Chiefs' zone, further causing the Ridgepoint scoring machine to cough and sputter.

In the women's league, Ya Yas sailed nine goals past the completion with Kari Dixon (three) Molly Joe (two) and Jasmine Juniper scoring against Sitas, while Eli August (two) Sara Agnew and Sydney ''the Kidney'' Celli saw to the scoring against Source. Blazers beat Mayhem 5-1 with goals from Jasmine Di Pietro (two), Olivia McLean, Ashley Taylor and Jackie Ostrovsky. However, unlike apples, goals don't just fall from a tree, and the excellent setter-uppers for Blazers celebrity snipers have been Christine Campbell and Dani Thompson.
